On June 26th 2018, the leaders of US-China Transpacific Foundation, led by Chairman Sigmund Rogich and President Gavin Chen, met with Mr. Yang Jiechi at Zhongnanhai Wuchengdian. Both parties exchanged views on US-China relations and also conferred on the challenges in bilateral ties between the two countries.

Mr. Yang Jiechi commended the Foundation for its instrumental role in facilitating exchange in the areas of bilateral politics, economics and culture for many years, and expressed great expectations for the Foundation. He hopes that the Foundation will further promote US-China exchange and communication, facilitate the positive development of bilateral relations and implement critical joint programs. UCTPF Chairman Sigmund Rogich also noted that the US and China are the world’s largest economies, and relations between the two is the most important bilateral relations in today’s world. Their dynamics have tremendous impacts on global stability, peace and development. The Foundation will actively seek consensus between the two and expand the areas of cooperation.

Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Mr. Cui Tiankai, President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Wu Hailong as well as Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Zheng Zeguang were also present at the meeting.
