IN MEMORY OF GOVERNOR BILL RICHARDSON

We mourn the passing of the Honorable Bill Richardson, former Governor of New Mexico and esteemed member of the US-China Track II High Level Exchange - US-China Eminent Persons Forum. Governor Richardson died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 75.

Over his distinguished career in public service, Governor Richardson championed strengthening bilateral relations between nations. As a staunch advocate for diplomacy, he has actively supported the Foundation over the past five years through his involvement with the US-China Track II High Level Exchange. This aligns with his lifelong belief in promoting communication and understanding between countries through diplomacy, cultural and business exchange, and other activities.

Governor Richardson leaves behind an admirable legacy of international diplomacy. During his tenure as Congressman, United Nations Ambassador, Secretary of Energy, and two-term Governor of New Mexico, he gained immense respect for his sensitive diplomatic missions in North Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Cuba, Burma, Colombia, and other nations.

We honor Governor Richardson's accomplishments and contributions to furthering mutual understanding between the United States and China during challenging times. His passion for diplomacy and people-to-people exchange will continue to inspire future generations.
