UCTPF Organizes U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation
At the invitation of US-China Transpacific Foundation, Daniel Ball, Deputy Policy Director of Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, led a delegation of twelve congressional staff on a visit to China from August 14th 2019 to August 22nd 2019. During their stay in China, they visited many institutions, organizations and cultural sites where they exchanged their in-depth views on US-China relations, international and regional issues of common concern with their Chinese counterparts.
Visit Charhar Institute
At the invitation of Charhar Institute, the US delegation attended a seminar on US-China relations on the afternoon of August 15th. Lv Fengding, Co-Chair of the International Advisory Committee and Member of the National Committee on China-US Relations, Lu Shumin, Member of the International Advisory Committee and Member of the National Committee on China-US Relations, Jia Qingguo, Member of the Standing Committee and Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and other scholars also attended the seminar.
The US delegation was warmly welcomed by He Zhigeng, Secretary General of the Charhar Institute. After a brief introduction of the members from both sides, the delegation had an interactive discussion with scholars from Chahar Institute on the issues of bilateral economic and trade relations, intellectual property, scientific and technological development as well as US -China people-to-people exchanges. The insightful discussion improved mutual policy understanding between both sides.
Meet Officials of Shenyang People’s Congress
The US delegation visited officials of Shenyang People’s Congress and were invited to a lunch session. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Wang Jian, Vice Chairman of Shenyang People’s Congress Standing Committee. The two sides exchanged views on the economic relations between China and the U.S., the automobile industry of Shenyang, revitalization of Northeast China and other issues. Both sides hope to strengthen constructive cooperation in the future.
Meet Officials of Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Province
The US delegation visited officials of Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Province and were invited to a dinner session. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Liu Tianyu, Vice Chairman of Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Province. The two sides exchanged views on the recent international affairs.

The US delegation visited officials of Dalian People’s Congress and were invited to a lunch session. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Liu Weimu, Vice Chairman of Dalian People’s Congress Standing Committee. The two sides exchanged views on the communication between China and the U.S. as well as the economic development of Dalian.
Visit Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC
The US delegation visited the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Both sides exchanged views on Sino-US relations as well as ways to manage differences and pursue mutual benefits.
Visit Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs
At the invitation of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, the delegation attended the Ceremony of The Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between the People’s Republic of China and the United States and The Friendly Exchanges Between the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and the United States Congress. The ceremony was held in Beijing Diaoyutai State Guest House.
