The US-China Transpacific Foundation aspires to build strong educational programs, tours and create opportunities for the mutual exchange of ideas relative to politics, economics, culture and education between the US and China. With greater understanding and appreciation of both the commonalities and differences between the nations, the UCTPF hopes to open the door for positive and meaningful relationships between key decision-makers in both countries.

Organize U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation to Beijing and Shenzhen to View Reform and Opening up
At the invitation of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, William Kelsey Van Horne, legislative counsel of Democratic Senator Ben Cardin, led a delegation of twelve congressional staff on a visit to China from October 6th to October 14th, 2019. This trip aims at bringing an all-round understanding of China’s Reform and Opening Up Policy to the delegation. During their stay in China, they visited a number of government bodies, institutions and cultural sites, where they carried out in-depth exchanges on Reform and Opening Up Policy, US-China relations, international and regional issues of common concern with their Chinese counterparts for a better US-China relation.

Organize U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation to Beijing and Liaoning
At the invitation of US-China Transpacific Foundation, Daniel Ball, Deputy Policy Director of Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, led a delegation of twelve congressional staff on a visit to China from August 14th 2019 to August 22nd 2019. During their stay in China, they visited many institutions, organizations and cultural sites where they exchanged their in-depth views on US-China relations, international and regional issues of common concern with their Chinese counterparts.

Organize U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation to Beijing and Hainan Discussion on Free Trade and Reform and Opening-Up
At the invitation of US-China Transpacific Foundation, Megan Reiss, National Security Policy Advisor of the United States Senator Mitt Romney, led a delegation of twelve congressional staff on a visit to China from April 13th 2019 to April 21st 2019. During their stay in China, they visited many institutions, organizations, and cultural sites where they exchanged their in-depth views on US-China relations, international and regional issues of common concern with their Chinese counterparts.

Organize U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation to Beijing and Tianjin. Discussion on Sino-US Intellectual Property Exchange and Cooperation.
Corey Messervy, Administrative Manager –Director of Constituent Services of Republican Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, led a delegation of eleven congressional staff on a visit to China from October 26th2018 to November 4th2018. Through attending several political and cultural visits, they managed to engage in candid and in-depth exchanges with the Chinese hosts regarding China’s economic development and intellectual property protection efforts.

On August 2018, Joshua Sheinkman, Democratic Staff Director of Senator Ron Wyden, led a delegation of fifteen congressional staff on a visit to China. During their stay in China, they visited many institutions, organizations, and cultural sites where they had many in-depth discussions with their Chinese hosts.

Host Cocktail Reception for Ambassador Cui Tiankai
On Monday, July 16, 2018, UCTPF hosted a cocktail reception and dinner for Ambassador Cui Tiankai, the Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China to the United States and Consul General Luo Linquan, from the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco to meet with civic and business leaders in Nevada. Guests included elected officials and staff, official tourism representatives, leaders from the University of Nevada, as well as executives from various industries including hospitality and tourism, service providers and product suppliers.

UCTPF Chairman Sigmund Rogich Meets with Mr. Yang Jiechi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee
On June 26th 2018, the leaders of US-China Transpacific Foundation, led by Chairman Sigmund Rogich and President Gavin Chen, met with Chinese Mr. Yang Jiechi at Zhongnanhai Wuchengdian. Both parties exchanged views on US-China relations and also conferred on the challenges in bilateral ties between the two countries.

Organize US Congressional Staff Delegation to Hunan Province. Discusses Poverty Alleviation with Officials of Hunan Provincial People’s Congress.
Ryan McConaghy, Assistant Democratic Secretary of the United States Senate, previously Staff Director at the Democratic Policy and Communications Center run by Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, led a delegation of eleven congressional staff on a visit to China from April 1st 2018 to April 7th 2018.
As organizers of the trip, UCTPF is honored to have the delegates grace this event with their participation. The Foundation’s President Mr. Chen Jiawen and Vice-President Mr. Winston Nyo received and accompanied the delegates during their time here.

UCTPF Leaders Meet with Senator Lindsey Graham
On February 9th, US-China Transpacific Foundation (UCTPF) Chairman Sigmund Rogich and President Gavin Chen meet with Senator Lindsey Graham.
UCTPF leaders had an in-depth discussion with Senator Graham regarding several hotspot issues surrounding US-China relation.

Organize U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation to Shanghai and Hangzhou. Insightful Discussion on Sino-US Financial Stability is held.
US-China Transpacific Foundation (UCTPF) organized U.S. Congressional Staff Trip to China from October 8th 2017 to October 15th 2017. Ms. Celeste Gold, Chief of Staff for U.S. President pro tempore Orrin Hatch, led a delegation of eleven congressional staff to Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai.
As organizers of the trip, UCTPF is honored to have the delegates grace this inaugural event with their participation. The Foundation’s President Mr. Gavin Chen, Vice-President Mr. Winston Nyo and Vice-President Mr. Christopher Cole received and accompanied the delegates during their time here.

UCTPF Delegation Visits the U.S.
From April 25th 2017 to May 6th 2017, a US-China Transpacific Foundation (UCTPF) delegation undertook a trip to the United States. During this trip, the delegation visited important political figures.

UCTPF Facilitated the Meeting between President Xi Jinping and the U.S. Congress
On September 25th 2015, in a meeting with the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and leaders of major Senate and House committees, Xi commended the legislative bodies of the two countries for their support in advancing China-US relations over the past years.
